Explain why the American consumer/government has such a strong dependency on motor vehicles?  Are we our own worst enemy in regards to the pollution we are causing to the environment?  Why can't we decrease our vehicle dependency and become like other countries that rely heavily on mass transportation with a reasonable usage of motor vehicles?
