Failing to put a contract in writing as required by the Statute of Frauds:

Renders the contract void

Makes the agreement an enforceable oral contract

Only matters if Article $2$ of the Uniform Commercial Code applies

Renders the contract unenforceable in court if the other party objects that the agreement had to be in writing
