Falling Film on a Cone

In connection with gas$-$absorption studies, it is decideduto explore several arrangements

for as$-$liquid contacting in systems of simple geometry. One system that seems attractive

is that in which a liquid jet impinges upon the point of a cone and flows down along the

cone as a liquid film, shown in Fig. $3.$W$.$ Obtain an approximate expression for the change

of film thickness with $s,$ the distance along the conical surface. List carefully any assump

tions you make in your development and indicate any restrictions that may have to beplaced

on the final result.
