Figure 1. Baseline percent correct for replacing taillight task analysis across 3 sessions. 100% 90% 80% 70% 60% 50% 40% 30% 20% Percent Correct Implementation 10% 0% Plot Area Session 1 Session 2 Session 3 Session Task Analysis: Changing a Taillight Participant AR is a 24-year-old female who works as a registered behavior technician and recently began a Master's in ABA program. AR currently lives with her family, but is planning to move out and is also planning to begin driving herself. Due to AR's upcoming plans, it is relevant to AR to learn some simple car maintenance tasks that she can complete herself. This will benefit AR in that she will save money by completing tasks such as changing a taillight by herself instead of paying for a service, as well as avoiding getting a ticket if a light goes out. Operational Definition The ultimate goal of this task analysis procedure is for the learner to successfully switch out a taillight on a vehicle, resulting in the part functioning properly (i.e., the blinker turning on when activated). The procedure will be taught using a behavior skills training (BST) procedure (Courtemanche et al., 2021). BST was selected as this prior research suggests the effectiveness in multiskill training, which is the overall goal for AR and hopefully this procedure can be replicated with other simple maintenance tasks. For this particular skill, procedural fidelity must Data Collection Data will be collected by an observer using a procedural integrity checklist using an all or nothing measure per step (Bergmann et al., 2023). (Appendix A). Each step of the task analysis will be scored either a + or - based on completion of the step. The learner will be required to score 100% to meet mastery, meaning all steps must be scored with a + or correct to meet mastery criteria. Baseline During baseline, participant AR scored 16% on each f 3 separate trials. AR completed steps 1 and 2 in all instances, but did not complete steps 3-12. Baseline data is plotted below. The task analysis is as follows. 1. Open the trunk to the car while it is not running.
