Figure 3: Add a MADD $t0, $t1 operation to the processor. MADD is a multiply and add word instruction. It multiplies the values of the $rs and $rt registers, then adds that result to the 64 bit value held in the HI/LO registers. The 64 bit result is then put back in the HI/LO registers. MADD is an R-type instruction.
