Background - Data Analysis The United States Geological Survey is a scientific agency of the United States government USGS scientists study and report on the landscape of the United States, its natural resources, and the natural hazards that threaten it, including earthquakes. In this project, we'll create a Python program to analyze data from the USGS website about earthquakes of magnitude 5 or greater, and 2.5 or greater, in a 250 km radius centered in Eugene, OR, during the past 100 years The program will determine the number of earthquakes, and the mean, median, and mode of the magnitudes of the earthquakes, and the report this information, for example (this example uses based data for earthquakes magnitude 4.5 or greater over the past 25 years) Earthquake Data Analysis 25 Years Ago to Present 250km centered at Eugene, OR There have been 5 earthquakes over the past 25 years Mean magnitude is: 4880000 Median magnitude is: 4.9 Mode(s) of magnitudes is: [5.2,4.7,4.9,4.5, 5.1] ITEM FREQUENCY 4.5 1 4.7 1 4.9 1 5.1 1 5.2 1 Note the similarity to project 7-1 For Project 7-2, you will write a function to access a file of earthquake data and create a list of the magnitudes of the earthquakes in the file, then another function to analyze the magnitudes data Finally, you will write a function to report the count, mean, median, mode, and frequency occurrences of the earthquake magnitudes
