-Choose one company listed in the S&P 600 Stock Index file posted to the course website in the
Course Documents section. Your company must have its stock traded on a major stock exchange.
-To get the most recent financial statements for any public company:
Go to the U.S. Securities and Exchange website (www.sec.gov)
-Click on [Filings], then click on Company Filing Search
-In the address bar, key-in your chosen companys stock ticker symbol (see it in
the S&P 600 Stock Index file). Do not click on Search.
-Click on the pop-up the company name under Edgar/Filings
-Click on [View Filings] button
-Go to the Form 10-K line and click on [Filing] button
-Click on [Interactive Data] button
-Click on [Financial Statements] button in left-hand margin.
You should see several financial report options. You need to print/download
-Consolidated Statements of Operations
-Consolidated Balance Sheets
-Consolidated Statements of Cash Flows
-Calculate that companys Free Cash Flow for its most recent fiscal year only using the textbook
Chapter 3 definition of Free Cash Flow.
-Calculate two financial ratios from each of four out of five ratio categories mentioned in the textbook
Chapter 4 for the companys two most recent fiscal years (i.e., a total of eight ratios for two years,
equals sixteen financial ratios). You need to follow the Chapter 4 formulas for the ratios.
-Label and show all figures used to compute Free Cash Flow and for the financial ratios.
