Find Quality of experimentation and statistical results and write conclusion about it for next two Problems:
(A) Problem 1
The following is a description of the operations of a medical clinic.
The clinic has 3 doctors, 4 nurses, 3 nurses' aides and 2 receptionists. The building has a waiting room, six examination rooms, a laboratory, and a pharmacy. The lab has 2 lab technicians, and the pharmacy has 1 pharmacist. The clinic is a clinic that works as walk-in and with reservations, so patients may or may not have appointments. Walk-in patient arrivals are a Poisson process with rate 18 per hour. Patients make reservation arrivals with a Poisson process with rate 5 per hour. Arriving patients must register with the receptionist. After registration, the patient waits until aide takes him to an examining room. Once in the examining room, the patient will wait for a nurse to do a preliminary assessment and take a history or update the notes on the patient's condition. Nurses are permitted to treat certain mild conditions such as sore throats or mild infections that apply to 20 percent of patients. For the other 80 percent, the nurse will then tell the doctor that the patient is ready to be seen. The doctor then examines the patient. The doctor orders lab tests for 60 percent of patients. The procedure for lab tests is that the nurse draws blood and the specimen is then sent to the lab where the lab technician does the testing. Lab tests are done in FCFS order. The patient waits for the lab test to be completed. After the test, the doctor will see the patient again in 50 percent of cases. In the other 50 percent of cases, the nurse will discuss the results of the lab tests with the patient. After the return visit by the doctor or nurse, the patient will leave the examining room. A prescription is written for 80 percent of patients. If the patient has a prescription, she will take it to the pharmacy for filling. Prescriptions are filled in FCFS order. After receiving the prescription, the patient leaves the clinic. Distributions for various process times in this model are given in the following table. The clinic operates from 8 A.M. to 4 P.M. daily. All patients who arrive before 4 P.M. will be seen the day of arrival. Process Distribution Registration Uniform (1.0, 2.0) Aide to exam room Uniform (0.2, 1.3) Nurse assessment Triangular (2.0, 4.0, 10.0) Doctor examination Triangular (4.4, 6.1, 12.2) Lab test Uniform (3.4, 13.9) Doctor second visit Triangular (3.2, 4.5, 9.6) Nurse second visit Triangular (2.4, 6.1, 10.3) Prescription filling Uniform (2.3, 5.9) Develop an Arena simulation of this model and use it to estimate the utilization of the doctor, the utilization of the nurse, and the mean total waiting time of the patients while in the clinic (Total waiting time includes the time waiting for an aide, doctor, nurse, lab test, or prescription). You can make assumptions if necessary; however, they must be explicitly stated in your report
You must have an appropriate transfer
mechanism for the processes explained above.
(B) Problem 2 For the clinic in Problem 1, add the feature that patients can have two priority categories: normal and urgent. Urgent patients have higher priority than normal patients when served by the aide, doctor, or nurse but the same priority in the lab and pharmacy. Priority is not preemptive, however. Thirty percent of patients are urgent, and the rest are normal. Construct an Arena simulation model, and use it to estimate the same parameters as in Problem 1.
