First, decide as a group on a well-known firm you will research. The information should be available online and your group members should not have already written/researched them earlier in the course.

  • Brainstorm the key internal and external issues with the firm's four different operating divisions. Use this information to help develop your final project next week. You may want to collect this information into an informal SWOT analysis. (A SWOT is not required as part of the paper.)
  • Then evaluate the four divisions using the Boston Consulting Group Matrix found Chapter 8 of the textbook. Based on this tool and the learning from the whole class, select any two specific strategies from the reading and apply and implement to better manage its divisions.

Build a presentation using this information with the following eight slides:

(1) Title with names of group members,

(2) Brief introduction of the case,

(3) BCG Matrix,

(4) Strategy #1 with justification,

(5) Strategy #2 with justification,

(6) Implementation Plan,

(7) Conclusion, and

(8) References.

You should use the slide note feature for elaborate on the presentation.

To accompany the presentation, create a summary of your results in 1-2 page paper. Be sure to cite all the sources you used in APA format. The group paper and presentation will be graded by your instructor.
