First measurement is made when you stand one soup can on the floor by the table and the second soup can laying on its side on top of the table. Measure form the top of the soup can to the top of the can on the floor. Second measurement is made by changing the soup can positions.. the one on the floor put on its side and the one on the table stand up. You have now the same as the first measurement - one soup can on its side and one standing. Measure from the top of the soup can to the top of the can on the floor. Explain the difference in the measurement of soup cans when measuring from the laying down to standing soup can and vise Vera.
