FIRST ONE IS EXAMPLE:

Joes SkyTour Inc. is a helicopter tour and sightseeing company in Maui, Hawaii. The company owns helicopters that are used to fly tourists over the Maui Island for sightseeing. The company has created a database to track the helicopters it owns, including each helicopters unique ID, name, model, seating capacity, average cost per hour used, and the date it was last maintained. The database also maintains information about each pilot it employs and assigns to fly trips, such as unique pilot ID, Social Security number, first name, last name, street, city, state, zipcode (first 5 digits), phone number, and date of birth. The company offers different types of tours (with different tour durations and cover different sites) for customers to book. Information regarding these tour types, including the unique tour type ID, tour type name, expected tour hours, and ticket price, is also saved in the database. In addition, all information about each trip, including unique trip ID, the ID of the helicopter used, the ID of the pilot taking charge of the trip, the ID of the tour type for the trip, the date the trip takes place, the starting time of trip, and the number of passengers on the trip, is also kept in the database.

Each trip takes only one helicopter, but a helicopter may be used for multiple trips (on different dates/times) or may have not been used for any trip yet. Each particular trip has only one pilot assigned to it, but a pilot may be assigned to different trips (on different dates/times) or may have not been assigned to any trip yet. Each trip belongs to one particular tour type, but a specific tour type may be chosen for different trips or may have not been chosen by any trip.

HELP ME THE SECOND QUESTION PLEASE

To facilitate product innovation and support the companys differentiation strategy, BoardStar Inc. plans to implement a new online crowdsourcing platform to gather new product ideas from BoardStars customers and fans. You have been hired by BoardStar Inc. and asked to use your database skills to help with the design and development of the database required for the online crowdsourcing platform. The database must keep track of each user who participates in the crowdsourcing platform, including their unique user ID, first name, last name, email address (that is required to register for an account on the platform), and phone number. The database should also record information of each new product idea proposed by the users, including its unique idea ID, product name, product description, the date the idea was proposed, and the ID of the user who proposed the idea. In order to understand which new product ideas should be chosen and implemented, BoardStar adopts two mechanisms to pick the best ideas among all the proposed. The first mechanism is to ask online users to anonymously vote on all the proposed ideas. All the votes on a proposed idea are saved in the database. This crowd vote information, including the unique vote ID, the ID of the idea being voted, the date the vote was cast, the value of the vote (which is 1 if the voter likes the idea and votes it up, or -1 if the voter dislikes the idea and votes it down, or 0 if the voter is neutral about the proposed new product idea), and the voters willingness-to-pay (short as WTP, i.e., the price the voter is willing to pay for the proposed new product if it is implemented), is kept in the database. The second mechanism is to ask a panel of internal experts to pick ideas. The panel of experts first screen all the proposed ideas to identify promising ones. They then perform a detailed evaluation of the selected promising ideas. For each promising idea, each expert independently evaluates its production and financial feasibility. Information regarding each experts evaluation of an idea, including the unique evaluation ID, the ID of the idea being evaluated, various evaluation items such as the estimated date when the production of the proposed product idea can start, the estimated date when the proposed product can be released on the market for sale, the estimated production cost per unit of the proposed product, the estimated consumer demand (in number of units) for the proposed product, and the suggested retail price per unit for the proposed product, is also kept in the database.

Each user participating in the online crowdsourcing platform may propose multiple new product ideas or may not propose any idea, but each particular idea is proposed by one and only one user. Each new product idea may receive multiple crowd votes by the users or may not be voted by any user at all, but each particular crowd vote record corresponds to one and only one idea. A new product idea may not pass the screening stage and therefore may not be chosen by the panel of experts to conduct a detailed expert evaluation. But once an idea is marked by the panel of experts as promising (i.e., passes the screening stage), it receives multiple evaluations from all the experts as each expert performs their independent assessments of the idea. Each expert evaluation record is about one and only one product idea.
