First things first the marriage is not a legal one. Christina was 15 years old the legal age in Nevada is 17 with parental consent 18 years old. The $85,000 lost on gambling was a stupid move by Tarek, but unfortunately for Christina, she placed it in a joint account. That money was just that joint at that point married or not. They never really got into whether or not the marriage was made legal down the line so it is tough to get into, but assuming any competent law firm would see this in the paperwork I will guess they had. Considering Christina had been unfaithful it is quite possible Tarek would be able to get half of the value of the annuity in the divorce. The house I could see being handled through a mediator within the firm. The possibility of selling the house and splitting the money would make sense as they both worked through the marriage and contributed to the renovation projects.
