For my assignment in my accounting course I need to do the following

You work for a small CPA firm in Key West, Florida as a junior accountant. There is only yourself and a secretary in the firm on a regular basis.

Chyna Baltimore is a regular client who frequents your firm. Chyna is a divorced mother with two children under 10 years old (a 9-year-old and a 6-year-old). She pays for daycare for the two children because she works at a local large video production company as the CIO (Chyna's AGI is $95,000).

Chyna has brought in a list of expenses that she thinks may be itemized. The CPA did not even look at the list as he handed the case over to you with the instructions to determine what can be itemized on her list.

Chyna's submitted expenses are as follows:

Personal property taxes $325

Lost deposit when Bank of the Keys went bankrupt $800

Charitable contributions (canceled checks) $1247 Prescriptions $325 Mortgage interest $6328 Deductible for braces for her 9-year-old daughter $1000 State sales tax (she estimates but has no receipts) $3025 Real estate tax $2335 Gambling losses (no gambling winnings) $1000 Dry cleaning her pants suits for work $425

Using the client's submitted expenses above, complete the following:

  • List all allowable expenses.
  • Completeher Schedule A tax form for the most recent tax year.
  • For each expense not allowed, explain why.
