For our third assignment we will calculate some common healthcare statistics. You may be pleased to know this assignment does not require APA formatting and is quite short. The intent is for you to get some practice calculating these key statistics and rates. You are strongly discouraged from sharing your work with classmates as you could end up getting a zero if your classmate submits a copy of your work. YOU MUST SHOW YOUR WORK. You must learn how to do these because these types of calculations will be on the final exam For each calculation show your work step by step. Submit your assignment as a Word document Make sure to express your answer to the appropriate number of decimal points (one or two). The assignment is worth 25 points and is due Sunday, July 3rd at 11:59pm. Slides 18 to 24 of the chapter 14 Powerpoint should be helpful on this assignment. Don't guess at the calculations. Also, review the Powerpoints for the definition of a patient day - it is not intuitive, so again, don't guess. When you see the word "rate" in the question know that means you are asking to provide an answer as a percentage - as in percentage rate. Express your answers to two decimal points (not more or less). 1) At Apple Blossom Nursing Home 44 patients fell in 2021 and there were a total of 2,784 patient service days. What is the fall rate per patient service day? 2) At the surgical center 17 patients suffered a surgical site infection and 488 patients did not. What is the rate of surgical site infections. 3) Yesterday there were 55 inpatients at Dexter Hospital. The hospital has 250 beds. What is the patient census? What is the occupancy rate? 4) Patient A is admitted April 2nd and discharged on the 19th, patient B was admitted April 4 th and discharged April 5th and patient C was admitted April 15 th and discharged April 17 th. What is the average length of stay of the three patients? 5) Betty is admitted at 8am to the hospital and is discharged at 3pm on the same day. Jane is admitted at 10am Monday and is discharged at 3pm the next day. What is the length of stay for Betty? What is the length of stay for Jane
