Rice hullers are currently available but have a very high capacity starting at 2000 kg per hour or are table top versions. With the increased demand for less processed food and the advent of small farms, there is a need to design a lower-capacity model which can handle about 50 kg/hour that can be used by small farms. This will allow for hulling the rice just in time as and when it is needed. The resultant device will also need to be user-friendly and cable of being operated either manually or using electric power.

An inexpensive reusable device (< $500) to remove the hull from the rice paddy.

Easy to use and maintain.
