For these questions we will be using 3 different point charges (q1,q2,q3) Q1 is 4.21 q2 is -3.86, q3 is 6.79 (they are microcoulomb) 2)

For these questions we will be using 3 different point charges (q1,q2,q3) Q1 is 4.21 q2 is -3.86, q3 is 6.79 (they are microcoulomb)

2) For now, ONLY q1 and q2 are present in an otherwise completely empty region of space. Draw a diagram showing the following, and label each qty (quantity) with the symbols below: an x-axis running all the way across the page a point charge q1 near the left end of the axis a point charge q2 a distance L to the right of q1 (near the middle of the page; draw L as well) a position A, on the x axis between the two charges, closer to q1 than to q2. a position B, the same distance L to the right of A (near the right edge of the page; draw L a second time) vectors E1A and E2A for the electric fields due to q1 and q2 at position A, starting with tails at A vectors E1B and E2B for the electric fields due to q1 and q2 at position B, starting with tails at B. the diagram must be upright and all parts (particularly vectors and labels)

The distance in the diagram is 73.5 cm. List your random by name & symbol, then calculate the magnitude of the electric force F12 that q1 and q2 exert on each other. (5) As noted in Q2 (question 2), position A is closer to q1 than to q2. To be specific, now, let's say that A is exactly 10 cm to the left of the midpoint between the two charges. for all remaining questions, use position B As shown in your diagram, there are two electric fields at your assigned position. Calculate the magnitude of electric field (either E1A or E1B) due to q1 there. (6) Calculate the magnitude of the electric field (either E2A or E2B) due to q2 at this position. (7) Calculate the magnitude of the net (total) electric field (EA or EB) at this position. Tip: follow your diagram! Check: unlike the force F12, the electric fields are large. (8) Charge q3 is now placed at your assigned position. Without using Coulomb's law, calculate the magnitude F3 of the net electric force exerted on q3 at this position.
