For this discussion, I believe there is a primary doctor shortage in the fields of care that are necessary for today's social economic standing. The major population is Medicare age, and this limits the type of providers that are available to see them due to insurance issues. Medicare Hass to be in Netwerk or in contract with the Physician that the patient is trying to see. A lot of primary care physicians only take specific insurances. A lot of primary care physicians are unable to take Medicare because they're not contracted. It's not so much that there's a primary care doctor shortage, but the accessibility to the patience is the shortage. If Medicare was contracted with more providers, there would be more availability for the patients to be seen. The variety of doctors that are in network with Medicare are abundant, but maybe in a specific area there's not as many. A lot of insurance companies have contracting limits, where they only contract a certain amount of physicians in a certain ZIP Code. I know this from personal experience working in the medical field that a lot of the physicians are trying to get contracted with more insurances to make care more accessible to patients, to lower their out-of-pocket expense by not taking their insurance it can become quite expensive if they decide to be seen by the doctor that they're choosing. The shortage of physicians is a big factor in the need for care for the older population, which is over 65 also known as Medicare, each I don't think the doctors are not managing their time correctly. I think a lot of doctors, and especially the ones that I've worked for in the past, or over booking their schedules if they are able to see the patients purely because they understand that a lot of patients can't see other doctors and they need to have care so they put themselves in a stressful situation by over booking their schedules just to make sure that patients receive some kind of care in the field that they need even if it's the appointment is pushed 30 minutes late or you have a waiting time or you are scheduled at a special time during the day during the doctors lunch hour. I know that it's not a shortage of physicians in my personal opinion, I think it's a contract or credentialing shortage from the insurance companies, not allowing physicians to be paid for seeing patients with a certain plan. This creates animosity between the patients and the doctor because the patient wants to be seen by them, but the doctor is not going to be paid for their time.
