Former Anne Arundel County Executive John R. Leopold was sentenced for his misconduct in office in March 2013. Circuit Judge Dennis M. Sweeney ordered Leopold to serve 60 days - 30 days in jail, the other 30 as house arrest. The judge suspended the rest of a two-year jail term in favor of five years of probation, and told Leopold he must perform 400 hours of community service and pay a $100,000 fine. Sanctions represented by Mr. Leopold's sentence - List actual sentence if described above Tynesha Jones is 19 years old. She just graduated high school last year and started a full-time job out of high school. She is arrested, in her car, outside of an elementary school for possession of marijuana. The amount she has on her is limited, but she was arrested within a school zone, so her charge is now a felony. Her presentence investigation report shows that Ms. Jones has been using marijuana for the past nine months. She has lost her job around three months ago as she started coming in late or not showing up at all. She reports that she has supported her drug habit by "exchanging sex for money." The Maryland State's Attorney refers her case to Baltimore County Drug Court. The judge is very angry that she was smoking in a school zone and particularly because she was parked right alongside the playground. In addition to the regular drug court conditions (weekly monitoring by probation, weekly drug tests) he seizes her car so she will not have a place to hang out and smoke anymore. He also requires her to report to Mosaic Community Services during the day for training/counseling during the hours of 8 am - 5 pm until she finds another job. Sanctions represented by Ms. Jones' sentence - List actual sentence if described above
