FORUM NO. 2: GLOBAL E-BUSINESS AND COLLABORATION

Applying to the University is a time consuming and expensive process. Students wishing to enroll have questions and when calling the University, at times it is difficult to get through to the right person to help answer those questions. At times callers are kept on the line waiting for someone to assist while their phone credits diminish. In addition, students travel to deliver there packages to the Admissions office or send their packages via mail to the University and wait to hear if their packages was successfully delivered. Potential students who visit the admissions office for the first time spend quite some time trying to locate the admissions unit to hand deliver their application forms. Therefore, you have been hired as a consultant by the University of Belize to contribute a solution to the problem that exist in the Admissions Department regarding the Application System. As a consultant it is a vital that you identify the current business processes and propose new business processes to help solve this problem. Explain in your response the importance of business processes. In addition explain how Information Technology can help improve the Application process at the University of Belize, Admissions Department. Clearly outline business processes by steps and illustrate using a figure.
