From the website at python.org and your own research perhaps elsewhere - I pose a question. We are installing version 3.6.xxx of Python, our text being already out of date the minute it was printed is using version 3.1.0. What potential issues are we going to have with this discrepancy? Why would your instructor make you install the latest version? Can you find a concrete example of a change we will have to make to accommodate the newest version?
