Reinforce Your Skills For these exercises, you will work with Puppy Luv Pampered Pooch, the company account created in your trial subscription to QuickBooks Online.

Sadie has asked you to fine-tune some things related to accounting. She would like to have a field on the sales receipt form that indicates the breed of each dog groomed. She would also like to change some of the reports and have some of them emailed to her each week. She has also asked you to set up a new user to view reports only.

REINFORCE YOUR SKILLS 9-1 Customize a Report Sadie would like her profit and loss report changed to a Cash basis. She also wants to change the name of the report to Income Statement. In this exercise, you will customize the profit and loss report and then save the customization. Open the Reports center and choose the Profit and Loss report. Set the Report Period range to 07/01/2021 to 09/30/2021 and then run the report. Change the accounting method to Cash. Click Edit Header and change the report title to: Income Statement Run the report. Click the Save Customization button and then set the Custom Report Name to: Cash Basis Income Statement Save the customization and then return to the Reports center.

REINFORCE YOUR SKILLS 9-2 Schedule a Report to Be Emailed In this exercise, you will schedule the Cash Basis Income Statement to be automatically emailed to Sadie at the end of each week. Click the Custom Reports tab in the Reports center. Click the Edit link for the Cash Basis Income Statement. Set the email schedule to On. Set the schedule to repeat Weekly on Friday. In the Email To field, enter: Sadie@qbmail.net In the Subject field, enter: Weekly Income Statement Save and close the form. If you get a warning about the date, click OK.

Click Edit for the Pink Sales Receipt. Select Content, click on the upper portion of the form, and click + Custom Field in the lower-left corner of the window. Place a checkmark next to the first Custom Name field. Type Breed in the first Custom Name field. Click Done.
