Frontier Ranch Supply is a diversified retailer specializing in a wide range of ranch supplies and equipment. It's store network of company-owned stores operates in most of the lower 48 states. The company is seeking to gain insight into the relative demand for the company's products in those states and the various regions of the country in which it sells. The current focus is on assessing the company's inventory management relative to regional and local demand. To assist in the analysis, the accounting team has assembled data in Tableau on sales, additional markup percentage ratios, and markdown percentage ratios for each state and each of the five regions of the country designated in the company's data base. Higher ratios of additional markups relative to sales indicate favorable inventory management while lower ratios of markdowns relative to sales indicate favorable inventory management.
