GAGA Company is a manufacturing company focusing on producing computer components. In respond to its increase in growth and appointment of a new CEO who would like to enhance the company competitive edge, the company plans to upgrade the factory with a new manufacturing machinery that can improve speed of production and raise volumes of output. Further, a competitor company had already used the new machinery had shown great success in gaining larger market share. The company is also worried that the global economic downturn would eventually affect its profit. The increasing maintenance cost of the old machinery and the result from the survey that was carried out earlier on indication that consumer wants new products are also driving factors. The company is also highly unionized, and the union strongly opposed the plan as workers who are members of the union are frightened of the new technology. Workers would also lose the opportunity to earn overtime as the machinery can improve speed of production and raise volumes of output. However, the cost of using this machinery is very high and as it is new it is susceptible to disruption while in operation. They are also worried that there will be environmental impact of this new technique. Based on the scenario above, answer the following questions: A) Which of the SIX images of change management would you choose to handle the change in the company? Justify your choice. (CLO2, 3 Marks) B) Identify TWO (2) internal pressures and TWO (2) external pressures that drive GAGA to make a change.
