Gary the Gamers Value High-End Desktop System

Configure a desktop computer system for Gary, a college student user who needs a high-end desktop system to support high-end multi-player gaming. (Hopefully he has a day job that can also be supported by having this system at home.) You must choose three alternative desktop CPU systems, and then recommend the best choice. You may choose one option for the display, keyboard, mouse, and printer. This system CANNOT be an all in one computer.

Choice one is from Tigerdirect.com, choice two is from Best Buy online, and choice three is from Newegg.com.

Your systems must cost no more than $3,000 total.

Minimum requirements include:

- Display must be at least 23 diagonally, support 1920 lines of horizontal resolution, and have a web cam and microphone. Dual displays are a plus (provide additional identical graphics card). If not HDMI, provide adapter cable.

- Dedicated graphics card(s) with at least 1GB graphics memory onboard required. HDMI interface required.

- Main (primary) memory: 8 GB RAM or more and 120 GB SSD space

- CPU: at least quad core

- Internal hard drive: 1 TB or larger, at least 7200 RPM. (additional internal hard drive is a plus)

- External hard drive: 1 TB or larger, at least 7200 RPM.

- Optical drive: Blu-Ray combo (includes CD/DVD burner)

- Ergonomic keyboard, and gaming mouse or trackball required

- TV tuner a nice extra, but not required

- Liquid cooling a nice extra, but not required

- Color printer, with high resolution. Duplex printing is a plus, but not required.
