Generally, blueberry farmers are easy going people; however, the time of year that farmers choose to burn their dead stalks has become the topic of a hot debate in the blueberry farming community. One camp, the Spring Burners, insists that it is best to burn dead blueberry stalks in the spring. The opposing camp, the Fall Burners, contends that fall burning is best. In an effort to bring peace to the once tranquil blueberry farming community, researchers from the provincial Department of Agriculture conducted a study to compare the yield of spring and fall burned blueberry patches. At the beginning of the year 2000 growing season, the researchers randomly selected 20 blueberry patches, 10 from "Spring Burner" blueberry farms and 10 from "Fall Burner" blueberry farms, to be included in their study. The farmers were instructed to spray, weed, and harvest their blueberry patches as usual. At the end of the growing season, the weight of blueberries that each patch produced was recorded, and a mean weight per acre was calculated. Based on the study you have just read, please check the most appropriate response.a.
