Gi-Hun recently joined Chaebol Corp where he worked as an accountant. At the time Gi-Hun was hired, the company had just completed the accounting cycle for the year ending December 31,2020 . Gi-Hun began his new job by reviewing the following information about sales and receivables activity during the year: Based on his review, Gi-Hun prepared some handwritten notes in journal entry form to record the above sales, collections, discounts, write-offs, and additions to the allowance. He wanted to compare his entries to what had actually been recorded by the company. What are the journal entries? During his review, Gi-Hun concluded that beginning in 2021 , the company would switch to a balance sheet approach for providing for uncollectible accounts. He estimates that the Allowance for Doubtful Accounts should include an end-ofyear balance equal to 3% of total gross receivables. Prepare journalentries for 2021 to capture the following information and to update the allowance account from its beginning-of-year balance (see part (a) to determine the beginning balance)
