OSCM 5140 Assignment 4 - 7.5\% Objective: apply skills and competencies learnt in this class to jobs in the field. 1. Find a job posting related to Supply Chain Management (doesn't have to be local) - preferred to find something you are interested in. Examples: a. Procurement/Sourcing Coordinator/Specialist/Agent b. Logistics Coordinator/Specialist/Agent c. Inventory Coordinator/Specialist/Agent d. Supply Chain Coordinator/Specialist/Agent e. Distribution/Fulfillment Coordinator/Specialist/Agent 2. From the job posting, identify 3 competencies required and relevant to the role (can be technical or behavioral - please choose at least one of each). Examples of competencies related to roles on Scorecards in Moodle. 3. For each of the 3 competencies, explain: a. Your experience with those skills (can be directly related to another work related role you have held, experience as a student with that skill) You can add these skills to your future Cover Letter! Your cover letters should be specific and relevant to the job you are applying for. Sometimes your previous work experience isn't directly applicable to the job you are applying for, but your cover letter enables you to showcase the fact that you still have the skills required to do the job. The scorecard examples provided in Moodle are real case examples of employee performance. These scorecards are used in the hiring process - once a scorecard is generated for a role, specific questions are created for each of the outcomes and competencies so that you are able to compare different candidates against each other. Examples: - Project Management - Created and managed the project selection process in leadership and managed several large scale projects to completion and rollout. This includes new product launches, multiple ERP implementations including rollout and continual training, moving and addition of distribution warehouses, rebranding projects, and open purchase order management and strategy. - Inventory Planning Strategy - created and fully implemented inventory planning and forecasting system to improve purchasing that resulted in fewer stockouts and streamlined long term product strategy. Fully accountable for Project Management of Open Orders. - Procurement Strategy - saved a total of $500K due to unit cost negotiations and order quantity adjustments as well as $700k in cash flow savings due to increased inventory turnover and more beneficial payment terms. - Sourcing - moved 90% of revenue generating products to higher quality suppliers and negotiated better payment terms that improved cash flow in 3 months without disrupting listing availability. NOTE: Your examples do not need to be as complex as the ones above. Using quantitative measures is a fantastic way to get employers attention
