Given that migrants who obtain status through the Family Class, Refugee Protection, and other avenues end up in Canada's workforce as well, is there a policy reason to prefer the selection of economic migrants through the Economic Class to meet demographic demands? What might it be? Do you think the relative preference for highly skilled "knowledge workers" and the dominance of Economic Class immigration over other categories of immigration are sound policy choices?
