Go back to the beginning of the story. The hearing with the bank president and the cross country coach hasn't happened yet. The bank alarm is going off, Officer Charles is in pursuit of Derrick and Freida, and Freida has broken off and headed toward her dorm room. Instead of chasing after Freida, Officer Charles has opted to pursue Derrick.
Freida makes it back to her room in Nunn Hall and checks her email before grabbing a quick shower and heading out again. The email confirmed that her flight to Cozumel would be leaving in four hours, giving her plenty of time to get to the Cincinnati Airport to get checked in for her flight. She'd been planning this getaway for weeks and she could hardly wait to be lying on a beach, sipping a local concoction out of a bamboo cup with an little umbrella in it The trip was all she'd hoped it would be and when she boarded the plane to come home, she dozed off dreaming of salty air and crystal blue waters. The flight was smooth and since it was nonstop from Cozumel to Cincinnati, she didn't have to worry about waking up before she got back on the ground.
When Freida got off the plane at the international arrivals gate, something seemed off. There were a bunch of uniformed officers looking down at their phones, then looking up at the people in line in front of her. As she approached the officers, one of the hollered out, "Got her!" and immediately put her in handcuffs. She sat in a small room at the airport for an hour before another officer came in with her suitcase, which the officers immediately began to search.
While officers were searching her bag, a detective came in and sat across from Freida and began asking her questions about where she was on the date and time of the alarm going off at the bank, what business she had at the bank, and how far in advance she had booked her trip to Mexico. At no time had anyone read her her rights. At first, Freida was compliant and answered the detective's questions. She and Derrick were just friends. She'd booked her trip two months before. And yes, she'd been in the bank the day before the incident looking to open up an account. It was then that Freida realized that information may seem suspicious and for the remainder of the interview she replied to every question with a demand to speak to a lawyer. The questioning, nevertheless, continued.
Question: Will Freida's attorney be able to get the statements Freida made to the detective suppressed?
