Good data for tourism is hard to come by for several reasons. One is that no one agrees on where the industry starts and stops. Second, there is serious "data ______???which means that there is a delay between when it is finally published for use. Third, there is a built-in conflict of interest, as those asked to report on tourism data are selling it...they want the picture to be as rosy as possible. These could prevent good data from being available for tourism decision makers
