Grey intended to host a major barbecue for his business clients in July on some recreation property he owned. A major feature of the barbecue would be a whole lamb roasted on a spit. He made arrangements on June 3 with Donaldson, a farmer in Sooke, to deliver a butchered lamb, ready for roasting a day before the barbecue.
