Groups take Dim View of RM60m Lighting Bil

Many people argued that the fund should be used for more worthwhile projects. This includes improving the pedestrian walkways, providing cleaner toilets to attract more tourists and improving the transportation system.The move was viewed as a waste of taxpayers' money. The money should be spent to benefit the people directly by providing facilities for the public rather than wasting it on lighting and decorative items.
