GTA Auto Rental Inc. (GTA) rents cars predominantly to college and

university students, and recent graduates. Justin is going to university in

Toronto. Justin is planning to visit his parents in Montreal, Quebec,

during the long weekend. Justin emailed GTA asking whether he could

rent a car for the long weekend. GTA emailed Justin back with a copy of

their Rental Agreement, asking that he read it, fill it out, sign it, and email

back a signed copy. Justin was in a hurry so he didnt read the

agreement. He filled out the necessary information in the Rental

Agreement including his credit card information, signed it, and emailed it

back to GTA. On Friday Justin went into GTAs office to pick up the

rental car. He inspected the car and received the keys. As Justin was

about to leave he mentioned to GTAs representative that it would be a

long drive to Montreal. The representative immediately told Justin you

cant drive the car outside of Ontario

. The Rental Agreement that Justin

signed states:

By signing below, I hereby agree not to drive any vehicle

rented from GTA outside certain jurisdictions, such

jurisdictions to be determined by GTA in its sole and absolute

discretion.

The representative pointed to a large poster on the wall in GTAs office

stating that GTA has decided that vehicles rented cannot be driven

outside of Ontario.

Justin is upset and believes he can drive the vehicle outside Ontario,

whereas GTA disagrees.
