GUIDELINES

The purpose of the project is to help you visualize the real number system and also work hands-on to internalize your understanding. The project that you are going to work with has more depth and substance than homework exercises or exams.

1. Select one topic from the list of topics below. Perform a small research about your topic. You can use a textbook or any online source. Your research should be more visual, think about creating a presentation for a face to face class. Your project can be done in the form of a PDF file or a Power Point file. I prefer PDF. Also, you should submit your file as PDF. It should have at least 17 slides or pages. You can use Google slides, but make sure to change to it to a PDF file when you will submit it. I have trouble opening Google slides, and will most likely not be able to open your file.

2. Please, remember that being late with deadlines will cause point reductions. There will be a penalty of minus 5 points per day starting on due date at midnight for late submissions until October 15.

Being "sloppy" and disorganized will also cause point reductions, even if your final project is outstanding.

3. Your project should be attractive and educational at the same time. The title should be short, descriptive, and centered across the first slide or page. The title should identify the outcome of the study. The title should have the first letters of major words in upper case, the rest in lower case. There should be no abbreviations of any kind. You cannot use cursive for the title!

4. Your first and last names should appear directly below the title and should be about 25% smaller than the title.

5. The body of the power point should contain an introduction, images, historical evidence, results, discussions, and literature cited sections. All necessary graphs, tables, images must be included in the content.

6. The background can be white or any other light color. Images should be bright and visible. Each graphic should have a short legend (preferable) for identification in the supporting text.

7. Use appropriate grammar. Keep font type simple and consistent throughout. Use upper and lower-case letters.

8. You can always verify results with me. It is OK to send me emails, but make sure to use the following formats: pdf, doc, docx, ppt, pptx.

Requirement:

You have to create at least 17 slides including the title (first slide) and a work cited (last slide). The size of your project CANNOT exceed 500 MB. Make sure all pictures that you will use will be formatted in a smaller size, but not blurry.
