Hadoop was created by Doug Cutting and Mike Cafarella in 2005. I would like to refer you to the paper that (Dean, J, & Ghemawat, S 2008) wrote in 2008, In this paper they mention that they developed MapReduce one of the key frameworks in Hadoop. Do you agree that credit should be also given to Dean & Ghemawat for laying the foundation of what we know today is Hadoop? Also, how different is GFS from HDFS seeing HDFS has roots in GFS?
