Harry and Debbie have a 5-year-old daughter named Beatrice. Harry and Debbie were never married and never lived together. In fact, they only briefly dated before Debbie got pregnant. Harry saw Beatrice a couple of times when she was a baby but hasn't seen or had any contact with her since. Although Harry's name is on Beatrice's birth certificate and Debbie told him he was her father, he has his doubts. Throughout the years Debbie would call Harry every so often and ask him for some money to help support Beatrice, and he has always sent it to her. However, Debbie is now living with Daren, and they just had their own baby together. Harry believes that Daren might actually be Beatrice's biological father as well. Debbie calls Harry for more money, but he says "why should I pay for a kid that isn't even mine?" and hangs up the phone. Debbie tries calling a few more times, but Harry has changed his number, and she can't get in touch with him.

Does he have the right to refuse to support a child that he doesn't even think is his own? Are there any laws in your home state regarding non-biological parents and their obligation to pay child support?
