Hate Speech

Society is constantly becoming more diverse. With this change, new laws have been enacted or proposed that change the way people communicate with others. In some cases, positive changes can be made without laws. For instance, certain derogatory words, although legal, have been recognized for their negative effect, and many people have eliminated them from their everyday speech. Although hate crimes are illegal, hate speech is not.
