HCA 104-Ethics Paper 2023 Over the past five years and more recently the past 18 Months, the Canadian Government has been consulting with citizens and organizations around MAID and possible amendments that were to be in place by March 2023. As we have discussed and viewed additional video and links on MAID legislation, you are aware that Advanced Directives and MAID with a sole diagnosis of mental illness are currently not allowed. These both may change in the near future; possibly by 2024. Take one position of a) agreeing to these changes, b) leaving them as is or c) a combination of either; write about why you are taking a particular position. Use the four principles of ethical decision making, examples within the NBRHC framework (or other Hospital) and possibly the SBAR workbook to enhance your position. You should also use some of the material we have covered (i.e.: links from organizations that support change or defend the status quo) or supporting material you find on your own. Your paper will be given 5 marks for introduction, 15 marks total for your body and points made to bolster your position and 10 marks for your conclusion. Please use APA style with title page, New Times Roman and PT12. 10-12 pages, not including title page or references.
