HCS499: Health Care Strategy Capstone

Teacher Inital Post: I am an MGMA member Medical Group Management Assoc member. Beyond that, I also hold the status of Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE). ACMPE is the certification/credentialing arm of MGMA. I chose this path because for over 20 years I have managed medical practices and even today I work closely with physicians and their administrators. I chose to pursue my fellowship because it shows I have a firm grasp of the broad skill set needed to succeed in medical practice management. An added bonus is that physicians understand what it means to obtain fellowship status in their chosen careers. MGMA offers a wealth of benefits to members and also a wide variety of ways to be personally involved in the association. As for certification: MGMA/ACMPE offers a board certification as the first tier and then the opportunity to pursue a fellowship.
