Hello. Could you please help me with this?

The task is to research and i need an essay and analysis about a company from Operations and Supply Chain Management perspectives. Accordingly, I need to synthesize all knowledge I have learned this semester when discussing the company in the essay. Some discussions that I should include in the essay are but are not limited to identifying and explaining operations and supply chain strategies that the company chose, the benefits of those strategies, the risks or challenges of those strategies, and what could be done to mitigate or eliminate those risks if any. Make sure that you use proper references to back up your explanation.

This semester, our secret company is... Chick-Fill-A

Here are things that you must consider:

  1. References

Find legitimate references to be used in the essay. Legitimate references may come from any of these sources: news, articles, reports, company website, press releases, interviews, etc. Note that Wikipedia and blogs are not legitimate sources and should not be used as one. You need to have at leastthree (3) references in the essay, and of course, the more references, the better.

  1. Newsis a great source and can be found usingwww.news.google.com. Of course, results coming from this portal are different from those coming from justwww.google.com. But you still can use generic google search to find sources other than news.
  2. Our library is also an excellent place to find news, and we are a member of the New York Times and Wall Street journal.
  3. Academic literature will be a good source, too and can be searched using Google Scholar. (www.scholar.google.com).
  4. Format
    1. The page should include the essay title, your name, date, course code and title, and semester.
    2. The essay's expected length is2-3 pages (excluding reference list page, cover page, and exhibits), and it should be typed on 8 x 11 paper, single-spaced, with normal margins, and Times Roman 12 font.
    3. Essay structure
      1. Introduction

Use just one paragraph to write about the company description and background. Don't spend too muchtime writing here.

  1. Discussion and analysis

Remember that this is an essay. So, you are expected to describe, explain, elaborate, and analyze the company's situation concerning the following topics, based on facts found in your references, and based on the knowledge you learned in this class. Do not just create a laundry list of items included in the topics (pick one or two).Topics include, but are not limited to:

  1. Operations Management
  2. Competitivepriorities and capabilities, productivity
  3. Process strategy and structure
  4. Quality management
  5. Capacity planning, utilization
  6. Lean systems, six-sigma
  7. Forecasting and demand management
  8. Inventory management
  9. Operations planning and scheduling
  10. Use of technology and information technology (IT) in operations.
  11. Supply Chain Management (SCM)
    1. Supply chain design; facility location, why that place, location of suppliers and customers, and what supply chain strategy they use and why.
    2. Supply chain integration; supply sourcing, order fulfillment, how the company manages its suppliers and customers, how they communicate, collaborate, cooperate, and share information among supply chain members.
    3. Porter's five forces analysis.Read his article (Porter, 2008) to learn more.

The threat of entry, the power of suppliers, the power of buyers, the threat of substitutes, rivalry among existing competitors.

  1. Use of Information Technology in SCM
  2. Contemporary supply chain issues: risk and resilience, global supply management, e-commerce and omnichannel, supply chain metrics, etc. (Sheffi, 2005)
  3. Conclusion

Conclude by summarizing what you told previously in the discussion part. Then, add a discussion of suggestions that you think are good for the company to grow in future.

  1. Remember that academic dishonesty will be strictly enforced. Cheating is prohibited, but if you quote or paraphrase another author's work without proper citation, you are plagiarizing.

I will utilize a computer program to detect if such a thing occurs.

  1. This essay will be graded based on coherence, correctness, depth of analysis, merit, and readability (incl. format, grammar and syntax).
