I am doing the exercises of the Spreadsheets and Models course I'm taking.

In the formula on the formula bar, they are adding a 1+ within the parenthesis, which I don't understand.

Actually, I would use a different formula which would be =B12+(B12*$B$5), keeping in mind it needs to be copied to the cells for rest of the months of the year.
