Discuss how the key challenges raised on the case could be framed within a Christian perspective. In other words, how could the key challenges in the case be addressed using Christian principles? (CWV/IFLW)

The case is:

After evaluating the criteria for Franklin Equipment LTD it is apparent that they will assign team members based on their availability. The company will assign the team members depending if they are the next one available with few commitments, if their current project is finished then they would be placed to the next project available. They are also picked based from their expertise on projects.Experience and expertise is typically what project managers would look for when selecting team members for a project. Available expertise can add more value to the project by staying on track and not falling behind with commitments. The availability can be something project manager should be cautious about sometimes the ones that are available are the ones that are not the ones wanted for the team. But in the same aspect if someone is already overcommitted they may not be able to offer too much to the team. The resulting problem to the criteria is that all team members do not work well together which will result in hindering problems for the collaboration on the project. Project managers play a key role in developing high-performance project teams. The major dilemma that Jobe is currently facing is that if two members cannot get along then the project manager Gatenby will for fire one of them. The two team members Mr. Rankins and Mr. Perry do not get along; they both are being resistant to the project if it involves working with each other. Rankins and Perry have worked together on previous projects creating negative results of each other. Both of them have mutual feelings that they are not able to work with each other. First my thought was to have Jobe ask Gatenby for volunteers for the project. Experienced project managers stress the importance of asking for volunteers. However, this desirable step oftentimes is outside the manager's control (Larson & Gray, 2014). If Gatenby is persistent on Rankins and Perry, then Jobe should speak to the both of them of the importance of working together. Jobe then could have them go through the five-stage phase to work out any differences of opinions they have of each other. This stage would set what behaviors are acceptable. They would not move to next stage till they think of themselves as a group. This will help Jobe in shaping the group norms by creating ground rules in how the team will interact with each other in contributing to the project's success. This will help in the two members facing their differences and working through their issues with each other. Another key aspect that could benefit the two of them is for Jobe to create some team building exercises where both can work together.
