I am writing to inquire whether you could provide me with a few references on "functions" and "families", such as the logit function, the binomial family, the logit link, the Poisson family, etc. I apologize if these are a mess - I am really confused. These are all from the GLM families?

I also remember that I saw somewhere there are two families for binary/logistic regression, one is binomial, what is the name of the other one?
