Hello, I just wanted to clarify a concept. If a question asks for the magnitude of a scalar quantity you do not need to worry about the negative and positive signs? But with electrical potentials its important to keep signs ie -100V is a smaller potential than -20V. Is it only for potentials or am I getting something incorrect here.
