Quality Improvement Project- Students will study research features, processes and current trends in quality management. The goal of the assignment will be to use strategies learned in the course to put together a convincing proposal to adopt certain approaches toward achieving excellence in quality. Quality Improvement Project should include a maximum of 10 -12 slides onthe following components:

• • Identification of the Selected Organization or Background on the Type of Organization Selected-What is the name or type of the health organization where you want to promote quality?
  • Problem/Issue Statement- What is the problem or issue? Why did you selectthisproblem?
  • The National Context/ Quality Measure -State how your quality issue will be measured or analyzed. Also, indicate whether your problem is linked to a national quality or safety indicator: for example- Six Sigma Category, BaldridgeCriteriaJCAHO,NQF,NCQA,NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF STANDARDS AND TECHNOLOGY,AGENCY FOR RESEARCHHEALTHCARE AND QUALITY.
  • Research /Data / Article Support -How did your research support quality improvement in the area you idenitifed.
  • Plan of Action-What is your PDSA(Plan/Do/Study/Act)? Whatqualityimprovementprocessesareincluded. Students will summarize evidence-based articles relevant to the problem and clearly state how you usedthisinformation in your quality improvementprocess.
  • Findings/Results/Outcomes- What quality improvement processes were identified and planned?
  • Conclusions- What was the benefit of the process?
  • Recommendations for Practice, Research, and/ or Education- What would you recommend based on the findings andconclusions? What are the next steps that you would suggest for quality improvement?
