Hello, I need help on my Acc 202 Managerial Accounting. There is an example on course hero for Acc 202 3-2 problem set chapter 4, question 3. However, when I follow the instructions, I can't seem to get the correct answer. I feel that my answers are close and I am off by a few digits. Please help.

  1. Fabrication Department factory overhead = 614,800.00
  2. Assembly Department factory overhead = 246,750.00
  3. Total = 861,550.00

Direct labor hours were estimated as follows:

  1. Fabrication Department = 5,300 hours
  2. Assembly Deparment = 5,250 hours
  3. Total = 10,550

In addition, the direct labor hours (dlh) used to produce a unit of each product in each department from engineering records, as follow:

Production Department II Gasoline Engine II Diesel Engine

Fabrication Department: Gasoline Engine = 2.9 dlh , Diesel Engine = 1.8 dlh

Assembly Department : Gasoline Engine =1.8 dlh, Diesel Engine = 2.9 dlh

Direct labor hours per unit: Gasoline Engine = 4.7 dlh, Diesel Engine = 4.7 dlh

For Single Plantwide Method

Step 1: I took the total of direct labor hours which is 10,550 hours and divided it by 4.7 dlh = 2244.680

Step 2: I took the Total Factory overhead which is 861,550.00 and divided it by 2244.680 = 383.81862

I put 383.81 into my problem set and it came out incorrect.
