Hello, I need help writing up a case study that is based on my previous submission which will be posted in full at the bottom of this question.

Question: For this case study, develop a class domain model that includes the patient/user, the device, as well as other aspects of the system. You must be specific, that is show multiplicities and name the associations. You should also include reference links for materials you used and/or notes on your assumptions. If in doubt, explain.

Original Case Study:

Fitbit is a fitness watch that essentially is wearable technology. It monitors and tracks a variety of variables such as calories burned or steps taken during a given time period. The fitness community has embraced the Fitbit because it is stylish, easy to use and provides users with information they are looking for such as a heart rate tracker for when they are exercising. Fitbit has even gone as far as making the device waterproof and a feature for swim tracking. On top of that, there is guided breathing features and even a GPS. Each Fitbit provides its own unique look and features so depending on your needs there is something available for the consumer depending on what they are looking for. It comes in a variety of sizes, weights and some even connect to Bluetooth. Battery life varies depending on the device you select such as the Fitbit Versa (3-4 days) or the Fitbit Flex 2 (5 days) just to name a few. Each Fitbit appears to offer compatibility with Android, iOS and Windows which is great for the company because it doesnt appear to be neglecting any smartphone users.

1. Who are the likely stakeholders for this device and associated support systems? What user roles were likely involved in requirements definition for the device? Likely stakeholders for the device include local and global communities. This can include a variety of people such as consumers, shareholders, investors, regulators, internal staff and suppliers. Fitbit is actually a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) therefore a large portion of the stakeholders are likely customers and shareholders. Depending on how the company profits on a quarterly and annual basis it is likely that there are institutional investors such as a hedge fund manager that invests in company shares if they believe the company is going to do well. Fitbit targets fitness users so requirements for this device obviously revolve around fitness. I know being an active fitness lover that heart rate monitors, calorie burn monitor and steps taken are popular demand. Fitbit has gone above and beyond in the category though because they dont want their product to be neglected in any portion of fitness. A prime example is an active swimmer can use a Fitbit and monitor all of these things and not have to worry about water damage.

2. Assuming you were the lead systems analyst for this project, how would you have determined the requirements for the device? Be specific and list several questions you would have asked. If I wear the lead system analyst for the project one of the first things I would do before investing any money into product would be to survey active people. By that I mean I would have my team visit Cross Fit training locations, local gyms and other places of physical activity to gather information about what the consumer would like to see in the product. Upon surveying, you would find common and uncommon requests and then as a team we would decide what features to include, whether or not they would be cost efficient and brainstorm how to develop the product. At the end of the day, a lead analyst has to concern themselves with the bottom line because as a leader, it falls on you to make sure the products you sell are produced with reasonable profit margins and that it is a product consumers feel like they need to buy. I believe the best way to go about this would be to ask a combination of open and close ended questions. For example, What about fitness is important to you? How do you track your health? What is most important to you when monitoring your health during your workouts? Do you track your heart rate/calories when you work out, if so how? As a lead analyst I would make sure all members sent into the field to survey were provided with adequate questions in order to collect enough information to make educated decisions about our product before we begin to design it.

3. What are the primary functional requirements for the device and associated system? Some of the primary functional requirements of the device include tracking the time (it is a watch). Another functional requirement includes monitoring the heart rate of a person, tracking the amount of calories they are burning and displaying this information along with the time.

4. What are some of the non-functional requirements? Some non-functional requirements are overall performance, batter capacity, reliability of the outputs, response time and the security of the watch since some can connect to Bluetooth.

5. All systems are imperfect, in that there are features and functions that may not be technologically or economically feasible, or whose inclusion would prevent a reasonable time to market. Can you think of potential improvements to the device and/or associated systems? (Note, this does not need to be an exhaustive list - I am just looking for a few suggestions for improvement.) I have to say I have thought about this for a long time. I even gave myself a day to think. The Fitbit is available in a variety of styles, sizes and colors. It provides compatibility with multiple operating systems. It is capable of monitoring and tracking key variables in regards to fitness and its battery life is impressive amongst all models. The only thing I could truly come up with at this time to say could be an improved feature would be in regards to other medical health issue detection. If the Fitbit could be worn to track say high blood pressure, or let you know if you had a terminal illness or just notify you of an illness in general I believe that could be a massive medical device technology improvement, although I do not think that is the overall goal for the company at least at this time.
