Obergefell V. Hodges 2015 Question #1: In his opposing opinion to this case. Justice Scalia said, "A system of government that makes the People subordinate to a committee of nine unelected lawyers does not deserve to called a democracy." Should nine people decide what is marriage and what is not? Explain your thinking. Question #2: Another form of marriage that seems to be gaining more public attention is polygamy. Do you foresee a similar case coming before the Supreme Court involving this form of marriage? Why or why not? If it did happen, what do you think the Court might rule? \\N
