Hello,

Statistics is just not my thing and the SPSS software is very confusing.

If you are using the Afrobarometer Dataset, report the mean of Q1 (Age). If you are using the HS Long Survey Dataset, report the mean of X1Par1Edu.

(I chose Afrobarometer Dataset and have the Mean for Q1- Age). The rest of the problem is as follows:

  1. A description of what the each of the variables measure. (To me this is the same as the third question, but need further explanation)
  2. A description of the unit of analysis. (I don't understand this question at all and don't understand what this is/ how to figure this in SPSS)
  3. A description and explanation of the levels of measurement for each variable (i.e., nominal, ordinal, interval, ratio).
  4. Explain how you might conceive these variables to be used to answer a social change question. What might be the implications for social change?

**I was able to answer questions 1, 3, and 4. Question 2: give a description of the unit of analysis, I don't understand what I'm supposed to do. Give a definition of unit analysis? Give some type of calculation of unit of analysis if so, how does this happen on SPSS? I'm confused and need clarification/ explanation** Thank you.
