(Section 10.3) Guidelines for college students suggest that a full-time college student (enrolled for 12 units or more) spend 2 hours studying weekly for each hour enrolled. A researcher wishes to determine if the mean time spent studying by full-time students is significantly different from the suggested guideline. The researcher obtains a simple random sample of 16 full-time college students that are enrolled in exactly 12 units, so that the recommended weekly study time for each student is 24 hours. The hours spent studying by each student in a week are recorded below. Assume that the sample is normal without outliers. 17.1, 18.7, 19.5, 20.7, 26.0, 17.2, 21.1, 20.2, 24.2, 17.5, 17.2, 20.4, 24.1, 23.4, 19.0, 24.0 Determine if the college students spend significantly less time studying at a 0.1 significance level. a) State the null hypothesis (Ho) and the alternative hypothesis (H] ). b) Using T-Test, find the P-value and state whether or not you reject the null hypothesis. (justify your answer) c) State your conclusion in a complete sentence
